About the Studio

Music can change your life. Playing an instrument not only builds self- esteem and discipline, and is proven to sharpen memory and concentration skills, but can also broaden your world view. The mission of Gregorio Midero violin Studio at Deep River is to introduce students to the limitless benefits of the violin and nurture a life-long relationship with music.

It is a pleasure for me to teach.  The central focus of my teaching method is the belief that every student is an individual, with their own unique strengths to be developed.  Individualized private lessons are an opportunity for both student and teacher to learn and discover the power of music.  The dynamic of one-on-one instruction allows each student to grow and advance at their own pace.  I believe wholeheartedly in the amazing potential of young people, and know that they are capable of great things.  As a result, I am a dedicated and determined teacher.

I expect a lot from my students, and appreciate involved parents.

A student in my studio will learn to play the violin or viola, participate in recitals with pianist accompaniment, as well as reading music, memorization, biographical information of composers, have fun, and gain confidence in their playing.  "is not what you play,is how you play it!"

Teaching Experience

My teaching methods are a combination of Suzuki and Galamian. Suzuki is a great fit for the beginning students as an introduction to the violin, and then Galamian after the student has reached a higher level, and is mature enough to begin the next step in learning their musical studies.

I am originally from Venezuela, where I was educated in the Venezuelan National Youth Orchestra System, or "El Sistema."  The purpose of the system is not only to learn, but to teach as well.  As I grew and progressed, I was made to teach younger members when I was still a teenager.  During the next several years, I continued to teach in many youth conservatories within the system.

Adult Students

I believe that it is never too late to begin or continue the study of music.  I admire adult students so much, for their dedication and passion for the violin.  I cut them no slack, however, and am equally demanding with older students as I am with the younger ones!

Tuition

30, 45 and 60 minute lessons are offered all year round, and are divided into three semesters. New students are welcome at any time during the year, and tuition will be prorated according to start date.
